“Good is not good when better is expected.”
As Tommy Lasorda said, “If you love your job, you haven’t worked a day in your life.” I am fortunate that in my role supporting the Office of the President, I get to be involved in different aspects of the business, which I really enjoy. No day or week is the same, as I get to work on various projects, all with the common goal of helping our business get to the next level. From leading development sessions, to digging into the numbers behind our business, to helping to identify solutions, to seeing projects get not just completed but exceeding expectations, to finding that “aha” in the data—working at Cydcor can be so rewarding.
Cydcor is special in that it runs like a championship team. You have different positions (or departments) that work together for the common good. If we aren’t working together, if we aren’t aligned on the goal, we will fail. But, when everyone is stepping into their role, leveraging their strengths, and driving to help take their piece to the next level, we become not just a championship team, but a dynasty for generations.
Cydcor has given me the platform and the opportunity to push myself. In addition to being given the support to tackle the roles that have been offered to me, I have also been able to learn things like time management, Situational Leadership®, and Crucial Conversations®. I’ve been given the chance to not just learn these skills; but live them. I have then been fortunate enough to help teach such lessons to others looking to develop those skills within themselves.
The fact that everyone relies on each other and is willing to help each other is such an awesome thing to be a part of. Most people will develop friendships wherever they work, but where else will everyone help you succeed even when your work doesn’t impact their world? Do they look at it from the perspective that if you win, then the company wins, and it’s truly a win-win for everyone? Here, that is the case. Everyone is working to help drive our business regardless of their department, and it is fun to be a part of.
I have always had a passion for helping people grow personally. I love helping people push themselves and develop skills and habits to achieve their dreams. I get a thrill from seeing that assistant manager or owner turn the corner to greatness and become a promoting owner and then a consultant, or seeing colleagues who push themselves into new areas, create new departments, and ultimately earn the promotions they deserve. Seeing someone achieve their personal greatness is such a rewarding feeling.
