Jul 20, 2011

0 min read

In late June, more than 1,700 sales representatives and 200-plus office owners from Cydcor’s network of independently-owned sales offices came together at the 2011 U.S. National Conference, held in Nashville, Tennessee. Attendees had an opportunity to attend informative breakout sessions, organizational lunches, and an awards dinner that recognized their hard work and stellar achievements.

Other exciting highlights: A presentation from one of Cydcor’s top clients, who spoke about growth and the quality sales that Cydcor’s independently-owned offices have demonstrated,  the “Promoting Owner of the Year” award winner, who received a 2011 Range Rover Sport, and numerous recognitions that were given to top performers across the U.S.

“The client excited the crowd by explaining all of the potential opportunity on his campaign,” said Vera Quinn, chief operations officer. “He comes from a sales background and was rejuvenated by the energy of our people.”

The conference was a great opportunity for sales offices throughout the country to learn, network, and be recognized for their contributions over the past year. Each day, in states across the U.S., they work tirelessly on behalf of Cydcor’s clients, going door-to-door and business-to-business to deliver tremendous results.  The exciting, event-filled weekend was just an example of the excitement and passion that each office has for their clients.

Both publicly and privately held organizations were selected based on benefits, corporate philanthropy, policies, work-life balance, camaraderie and support of employees’ personal growth. Selections were made based on company surveys and employee comments.

“We are deeply proud to be recognized as one of Los Angeles’s Best Places to Work,” said Vera Quinn, chief operations officer. “Cydcor’s culture is one of dedication to the well-being of our team members – including investing in their professional development, as well as to giving back to the communities in which they live. Cydcor names Operation Smile Corporate Cause of the Year

Today we named Operation Smile this year's official corporate cause.  The international children's medical charity treats facial deformities, such as cleft lips and palates, around the globe.  We are partnering with its network of independently owned and operated offices to raise funds for the organization.

This is the first time Cydcor has adopted a charitable organization of this scale – it's a great way to exercise team building among our offices and we are proud to support an organization that improves the quality of so many lives.

We are partnering with our network of independently owned and operated sales companies to reach a goal of$150,000 in order to support an Operation Smile medical mission, currently slated to take place in Peru. Sales Companies are establishing their own "smile" campaign support pages and have fundraising goals starting at$1,000 per office.  Cydcor has established its own "smile" page with a goal of $21,000 – enough to pay for 90 surgeries, each costing approximately $240.

"The need for quality cleft care is urgent; there are so many children around the world who desperately need our help," said Dr. Bill Magee, Founder and CEO of Operation Smile. "We are grateful for the generosity of our supporters and volunteers. It is only with their help that we can continue to give new smiles and transform the lives of our patients."

We kicked off our Cydcor Cares program at the Boys and Girls Club in Thousand Oaks, California this month. The event was designed to help kids become more interested in reading. Cydcor office team members dressed up as their favorite fictional characters and read to children in kindergarten through fourth grade.

The Bookaneer, a local used bookstore in Thousand Oaks,  donated dozens of children’s fiction titles to help support the event. Owner, Tracy Benedict, was thrilled with the results and  thanked Cydcor for making it a priority to give back to their local community and for providing such a great program for children to participate in.

Cydcor is proud that its Neighborhood Leader Program has reached significant milestones. To date, more than 500 team members from the various independent Cydcor offices throughout the United States and Canada have dedicated almost 300 hours to their local communities through charity and volunteer work – helping more than 28 organizations.

Organizations helped in various local communities through the Neighborhood Leader Program include the Lupus Alliance of America, Feed the Children, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Make-a-Wish, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, Project Bread, the Boys & Girls Club, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the American Cancer Society, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the March of Dimes, and a number of food banks and animal rescues and sanctuaries.

To further demonstrate dedication to the Cydcor Community, the company recently formed a new program, Cydcor Cares, which will enable internal employees to band together and use their eight allotted volunteer hours that Cydcor offers on a yearly basis. The Cydcor Cares first event will take place at the Thousand Oaks Boys and Girls Club, where Cydcor team members will read to children from kindergarten to fourth-grade age.

Cydcor Gives Back to Southern California Community

More than 80 employees from Cydcor, the leading provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams, will roll up their sleeves on April 11 as they volunteer their Friday afternoon to unload and organize community donations for kids at Casa Pacifica, a residential treatment facility in Camarillo for abused, neglected and emotionally disturbed children. Employees will also have the opportunity to tour Casa Pacifica’s facilities and learn more about their programs and services.

Friday will mark the fourth time in the past year that Cydcor employees have volunteered their own time to help Casa Pacifica and make a positive difference in the lives of underprivileged children, teens and families.

“Cydcor is proud to have developed a relationship with Casa Pacifica. Helping out those who are less fortunate not only feels good, it’s the right thing to do,” said Gary Polson, chief executive officer for Cydcor. “Just like the enthusiasm our nationwide sales force brings to our client for outsourced sales, our staff is energized to volunteer as we all realize the benefits of giving back to our own community.”

Cydcor began its partnership with Casa Pacifica in 2007, when a team of 60 employees worked in their new warehouse to unload unloading storage units filled with community donations and organizing items based on age and gender. In December, Cydcor held a toy drive and delivered a mini-van full of toys to Casa Pacifica, helping to brighten the holiday season for more than 360 children and their families. Earlier this year, Cydcor employees donated their time to unload donations and organize clothing by size in order to help staff locate appropriate items for children more quickly. As part of Cydcor’s initiative to give back to the community, Cydcor also presented a $2,500 check to the non-profit organization.

“Cydcor has been committed to helping our organization in whatever way they can,” said Vicki Murphy, director of development and operations for Casa Pacifica. “Having the support of businesses like Cydcor is invaluable for us to further our mission and develop brighter futures for children of this community.”

Cydcor Supports Former Team Member Through Donation

Oct 8, 2005

Cydcor and its team members recently made a donation to the Andinet International School in Ethiopia, in addition to packing and sending supplies for the school’s children and teachers.

In support a former Cydcor receptionist who moved to Ethiopia in August to teach English and art to impoverished children at Andinet, Cydcor donated $1,000 to the school and Cydcor team members individually contributed nearly $600 in additional funds.

“We look for opportunities to support our team members’ prosperity internally as well as externally while they pursue other goals and passions,” said Gary Polson, chief executive officer of Cydcor. “At Cydcor, we try to create a philanthropic environment where our team members can support each other, and we all wanted to help her make a difference.”

Cydcor and its team members were also able to fill four boxes of binders, paper, padfolios, pens and pencils to be personally delivered to the school in Ethiopia. The money will be used to purchase student school and arts supplies, which are often limited or non-existent.

“The Andinet International School expresses heartfelt gratitude for the generous contribution and personal delivery from Cydcor,” said Nefertiti Makeda, director of Andinet International School. “Our school is growing and we are always in need of educational materials.”
