Cydcor announced that the company has been selected as one of the “Best Places to Work in the San Fernando Valley” by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal for the second year in a row.
Cydcor was one of 30 employers selected out of 75 registered to participate in this year’s competition and was judged based on employee satisfaction, benefits, internal working conditions, and the quality of local management.
“We’re excited and honored that Cydcor was chosen for this prestigious recognition,” said Gary Polson, chief executive officer of Cydcor. “We strive to provide an atmosphere where our team members feel totally engaged, energized, and have the ability to unleash their passion and brainpower. They are the backbone of our business and we are beyond appreciative for the hard work, ideas, and results they produce daily.”
Cydcor has been in operation since 1994 and provides top-tier programs and services to its team members. These include:
Special emphasis on volunteerism. The company offers every team member a paid “volunteer day,” giving them the opportunity to volunteer at the organization of their choice.
Yearly participation in the Ventura County Corporate games. In early 2009, the company participated in the Harbor Wetlands Restoration Project, where they were one of the first to assist in the creation of the Ventura Harbor Ecological Reserve.
An opportunity to have lunch with the CEO. Team members, chosen at random, are selected to have lunch with the CEO and a select few colleagues every month.
Online learning opportunities and training. All team members have access to a variety of online learning opportunities and training, available at any time from the convenience of their PCs.
Focus on professional development. Franklin Covey time management system training is provided to all new hires as well as all-team training in a variety of individual and management development methodologies, working with companies such as the Ken Blanchard Companies and Covey.
Competitive health care benefits. This includes the option to select from several HMO and PPO plans. An employee assistance program, competitive 401K, and paid flex day are also available to all team members.
A dynamic and employee-focused atmosphere. Monthly staff meetings are held to update all team members on the status of the company.
Cydcor, along with the other winning companies, will be recognized at an award reception on August 19 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City. At the reception, the rankings of the 30 companies, grouped by totally number of employees, will be unveiled. Cydcor will also be included in the August 2009 special edition of the San Fernando Valley Business Journal, which will profile the companies selected.
In early June, Cydcor, the leading provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams, sent company leaders and owners of each independently-owned sales office to the Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix, Arizona. The Cydcor sponsored retreat, R&R Weekend, comprised a blend of business, social functions, entertainment and relaxation for business attendees and their friends and family members.
“Cydcor designed this weekend as a thank you for all the hard work and dedication of the owners of Cydcor’s network of independent sales offices, field executives and selected Cydcor corporate office team members,” said Gary Polson, chief executive officer of Cydcor.
The approximately 550 attendees enjoyed a Consultant’s Invitational VIP reception, a general session and organizational lunch meetings, a pool-side themed dinner, lounging by the impressive pool, floating in the lazy river, and exhilarating fun on the resort’s water park slides. The weekend concluded with attendees “getting into the groove” for a Cydcor-style 1980’s themed dinner party. Randomly selected teams competed for top honors in “Family Feud – 80’s style” and the winning five person team split a cash prize of $1,000.
A highlight of the Cydcor weekend event was the second annual five-on-five basketball tournament, organized as a challenge between various Cydcor’s network of independent corporate licensee (ICL) sales offices as well as an opportunity to raise money for a charitable donation. The ICLs raised a total of $1,100, with Cydcor matching the amount—providing a total donation of $2,200.
This year, the money raised was donated to the owner of one of Cydcor’s independent sales offices whose infant daughter was born with Congenital Heart Disease called Hypo Plastic Left Heart Syndrome. The donation will be used to assist with medical expenses that have been accrued while treating her condition.
“We are a business that values giving back to the people we work with, and we are especially happy that we can assist a family we know personally and care deeply about. Because the sales offices do so much for Cydcor, we’re happy to give back to them through this weekend of R&R,” said Jim Majeski, president of Cydcor.
For the first time Cydcor joined the ranks of Ventura county businesses for some friendly competition during the 2009 Ventura Corporate Games this spring. The company kicked off its participation by lending a hand (and a shovel) at one of the group’s community service events – the Harbor Wetlands Restoration Project.
More than 60 business entities in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties join together every spring to compete in the Corporate Games hosted by the City of Ventura. Last year, nearly 10,000 employees competed against each other and took part in community service events. Each company earns points based on how teams do in each event – with 30 events in 30 days.
“This competition is similar to Cydcor’s own culture,” said Vera Quinn, senior vice president of operations for Cydcor. “Creating a strong sense of unity and teamwork among fellow employees is important to our business’ core and we’re happy to share the experience with other companies in our community.”
As one of the first to assist in the creation of the Ventura Harbor Ecological Reserve, Cydcor team members, their friends and family members, removed invasive non-native plants in order to restore the spot to its natural state and began to clear an entry pathway to the reserve – a place that will soon be designated a scenic area along the coastline. This promotes nesting for migratory birds that have trouble nesting in the current environment.
“It’s a pleasure that Cydcor joined this year’s Corporate Games and we look forward to future years of fun and networking,” said Rosie Ornelas, Volunteer Coordinator for the City of Ventura. “We do our best to bring the community together – not only for old-fashioned fun and competition, but for a common cause.”
For the seventh consecutive year, Cydcor, the leading provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams earned AT&T’s top honors for sales performance results as a 2009 Solution Provider Champion. The award recognizes Cydcor’s sales professionals who go above and beyond to generate national business sales for AT&T’s consumer, retail and business-to-business campaigns.
“We’re pleased to accept this award on behalf of Cydcor’s ambitious team members who provide top-notch sales solutions for our valued clients,” said Jim Majeski, Cydcor President. “AT&T’s recognition acknowledges our commitment to excellence, high performance and outstanding customer service that fuels client growth.”
AT&T’s Solution Provider Champions drive positive business results and extend clients’ sales reach through successful solutions and technical expertise. Cydcor’s success results from its talented sales network that operates offices across the United States. Each salesperson is dedicated to one client at a time, ensuring products are accurately and effectively represented.
Cydcor hosted a toy drive to benefit the Children's Hospital Los Angeles during its annual corporate kick-off meeting.
About 70 participating Cydcor team members were given $50 each to create warm and fuzzy companions at Thousand Oaks’ Build-A-Bear and then deliver them to chronically and critically ill pediatric patients at the hospital. With the help and generosity of Build-A-Bear’s 10 percent discount, Cydcor was able to donate $3,000 in furry friends.
“As uncertainty looms throughout the country, Cydcor is thrilled to kick off 2009 with this positive team-building event,” said Gary Polson, chief executive officer of Cydcor. “We’re grateful we’re able to both give back to local business and brighten the day of a sick child as we continue to create a company culture of giving back to the communities in which we thrive.”
Childrens Hospital Los Angeles distributes approximately 500 toys a week. Children receive toys after a week-long hospital stay, when they’re preparing for a painful procedure or operation, have a birthday or simply don’t have toys from home.
“As a diversionary and a therapeutic approach, toys play an important part in enhancing the well being of hospitalized children,” said Wendi Kellaris, Manager – Volunteer Resources of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. “Cydcor’s efforts are greatly appreciated and provide our patients a positive experience that is so vital to their recovery.”

Cydcor, the leading provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams, announced today that the company ended 2008 strong and optimistic for 2009. In the past year, Cydcor celebrated two distinguished awards, client retention and acquisition, active philanthropic programs and a brand-new headquarters as the company prepares for continued expansion.
“We are incredibly proud of what Cydcor has accomplished this year,” said Gary Polson, chief executive officer of Cydcor. “We’ve increased our sales force and diversified our client base; and in 2009, we’ll continue to be able to offer our clients a unique opportunity to grow their businesses in this difficult economy.”
Through its 200 independent sales offices in 36 states and Canadian provinces, Cydcor’s made millions of face-to-face sales calls on behalf of its clients, factoring into one of the company’s best-years in terms of sales generated for its clients, which include at&t, Verizon, Quill, Intuit, and Pinnacle Security.
Early this year, Cydcor moved into Conejo Valley’s Westlake Park Place, a new 27-acre campus style office development. Occupying the entire 4th floor with nearly 20,000 square feet, Cydcor’s new space is almost twice the size of its past headquarters.
For the 7th year in a row, the company has earned at&t’s top honors for sales performance results. at&t’s 1st Place Solution Provider Excellence 2008 Diamond Award celebrates Cydcor and its independently-owned corporate licensees (ICLs) serving at&t consumer, retail and business-to-business campaigns.
“We thank our loyal clients and customers for their continued trust,” Polson said. “Cydcor is proud to be a growing business, especially in this difficult economy. In 2009 and beyond, our dedicated team will continue to deliver top-notch results for our clients.”
In 2008, Cydcor was named among the “Best Places to Work” by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal and ranked #10 for area mid-sized companies. The Business Journal recognized area companies with a strong commitment to workplace excellence based on benefits, corporate philanthropy, policies, work-life balance, camaraderie and support of employees’ personal growth.
Cydcor believes in the rewards that follow hard work and dedication by its employees and this summer, Cydcor sent company leaders and owners of each independently-owned corporate licensee (ICL) to the Grand Bahama Island. The Cydcor sponsored retreat, R&R Owners’ Weekend, comprised a blend of business, social functions, entertainment and relaxation at the Westin Our Lucaya.
The company hosted Business Building Blocks, a weekend filled with philanthropic and training activities for soon-to-be office owners and chose to sponsor the Boys & Girls Club of Venice. As part of the weekend, Cydcor team members and executives volunteered at the annual Westside Champion of Youth Dinner & Auction, an annual fundraising event. The dinner was a great success, exceeding last year’s earnings and raising $150,000 for the cause.
Cydcor continued to promote corporate philanthropy in 2008. The company launched Cydcor Cares’ Volunteer Day and Neighborhood Leaders Program, both of which are internal programs to encourage team members to become more involved in their local communities and volunteer their time to charity, occasionally during work hours. Cydcor and its employees made a donation and sent supplies to the Andinet International School in Ethiopia, where a past employee taught art and English to impoverished children. Cydcor employees also donated 26 bags of groceries and hygiene products to a Manna-sponsored food drive this fall. Amid an economic downturn that has contributed to rising need, many local food banks are seeing heavier demand during the non-holiday season.
This fall, Cydcor Team members opened their hearts and wallets to help more than 500 Sylmar families who lost their homes in the San Fernando Valley, one of the hardest hit communities. In just one week, Cydcor collected more than 50 bags and boxes of clothes, shoes, bedding, towels and even a video game system – complete with a stand, chairs, TV, game console and a box full of games – from its team members.
Cydcor, the leading provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams, will kick off 2009 with a brand-new headquarters in Westlake Village, Calif., just minutes away from its current space.
“Cydcor is proud to be a growing business, especially in this difficult economy,” said Gary Polson, CEO of Cydcor. “As we have added new clients and continued to differentiate ourselves with financial and operational programs to ensure quality sales for our clients, our space and facilities needs have changed.”
In mid-January, Cydcor and its 80+ employees will move into Conejo Valley’s Westlake Park Place, a new 27-acre campus style office development. Occupying the nearly the entire 4th floor with 19,000 square feet, Cydcor’s new space is almost twice the size of its current location, which the company occupied for the past seven years.
Cydcor started with about 2900 sq ft in 2001. Then in 2005, Cydcor started knocking down walls to gain and additional 6800 square feet, and then again by adding a separate suite for a another 2000 sq ft in 2007.
Filled with floor-to-ceiling windows, state-of-the-art technology, audio visual equipment and updated phone systems, the new space offers more community areas for team members to comfortably collaborate during casual meetings. Additional training rooms complement Cydcor’s expanding educational programs dedicated to the development of its people. A contemporary design infused with shades of green reflects Cydcor’s innovative nature and vibrant culture.
“We were recently recognized as one of the best places to work in the area by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal, and the new space enables Cydcor to create an environment that best reflects our culture, values and who we are as a business,” said Jim Majeski, president of Cydcor. “The team at Cydcor is dedicated and spends a lot of time here, and this space allows us to continue to make Cydcor a positive, fun, and productive environment to be a part of.”
Cydcor’s new headquarters is conveniently located near a myriad of amenities including fitness centers, restaurants and shopping. Westlake Park Place, near U.S. 101 Freeway, boasts a classic Mediterranean style with overhanging roofs and unobstructed views of the Santa Monica Mountains.
About Westlake Park Place

The second phase of Westlake Park Place contains approximately 223,266 square feet and construction is planned to start in 2009.
This fall, Cydcor hosted 19 owners of the most promising independent sales offices at the company’s 6th annual Rising Star weekend. The three-day event, a mix of business and pleasure, recognized up and coming office owners who have demonstrated superb sales performance. The weekend provided attendees, hand-picked by Cydcor’s field executives, the chance to learn new business tactics and network with other owners and top level executives in an intimate setting.
“We’re thrilled to meet with and recognize these hard working office owners with a little down time, while also providing a venue for them to participate in training sessions to support their continued success,” said Gary Polson, chief executive officer of Cydcor.
This year’s event, themed Healthy, Wealthy and Wise, was held near Cydcor’s headquarters at the Four Seasons Westlake Village. Attendees, from throughout the U.S. and Canada, arrived on a Thursday and met one-on-one with Cydcor President Jim Majeski, Chief Executive Officer Gary Polson and Senior National Consultant Brad Park. These exclusive meetings provided a unique opportunity for the group to engage in private conversations with Cydcor’s top leadership.
On Friday, the group spent breakfast with team members at Cydcor’s headquarters and then got to hear from Cydcor department heads. These presentations provided Rising Star owners with information about how Cydcor supports their efforts as entrepreneurial business owners.
On the last full-day, the group enjoyed a renowned Ken Blanchard Situational Leadership II course. On Saturday evening, attendees boarded a “fun bus” into Hollywood for sightseeing and dinner in a private room at the House of Blues.
“This is what I call good chaos,” said Alex Beltran, lead volunteer with Eagle Rock Covenant Church. “There are a lot of people trying to do the best they can do organization wise, but it’s a disaster. The best way is to show up with humble hearts and say I’m ready and prepared for service.”
Cydcor, the leading provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams, was named among the “Best Places to Work” by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal and ranked #10 for area mid-sized companies.
The Business Journal and Best Companies Group (BCG) worked together to identify and recognize area companies with 15 or more employees and a strong commitment to workplace excellence. Both publicly and privately held organizations were selected based on benefits, corporate philanthropy, policies, work-life balance, camaraderie and support of employees’ personal growth. Selections were based 25% from company surveys and 75% from a 60-question survey which was completed by employees to assess their satisfaction with their work and employer. The two combined sets of data were tabulated and analyzed to determine a final ranking.
“We are incredibly honored Cydcor has been recognized as one of this region’s Best Places to Work,” said Gary Polson, chief executive officer of Cydcor. “Cydcor is passionate about continuing to find new ways to reward our team members for their excellent work and results. We have a bonus program for all team members and also recognize those who live up to our values through our monthly Values In Action Awards.”
The company culture is guided by a distinct set of highly valued behaviors, and a desire to be a great place to work. “Our values aren’t just words on paper. They are well thought out and act as our constitution for how we run our business and behave with our clients, the network of sales offices, and each other,” said Polson.
Cydcor was specifically recognized for its employee benefits. Team members are eligible for benefits the first day of the month following their hire date. Beginning in their first year, each employee receives 15 days of sick and vacation time. Cydcor provides an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which offers mental health counseling and referrals, gym discounts, and wellness and smoking cessation programs.
To promote a healthy lifestyle, Cydcor provides fresh fruit each week and sponsors its own version of the “Food Network,” when employees meet weekly for free lunch and networking. In order to maintain open communication between company leaders and team members, Cydcor provides an, open-door policy, team member surveys and small group lunches with the CEO.
Cydcor also puts a large emphasis on corporate philanthropy. In 2008, the company launched Cydcor Cares’ Volunteer Day and Neighborhood Leaders Program, both of which are internal programs to encourage team members to become more involved in their local communities and volunteer their time to charity, occasionally during work hours. Since 2007, Cydcor has maintained a partnership with Casa Pacifica, a residential treatment facility in Camarillo for abused, neglected and emotionally disturbed children.

Cydcor was founded in 1994 on a simple yet powerful principle: people still want to buy from people they trust. While much of the business world in the 1990s was moving toward automation and call centers, the founders of Cydcor recognized that something essential was being lost. Technology could handle transactions, but it could not replace trust, loyalty, or the personal connection that uniquely comes from a face-to-face conversation. That insight shaped the company’s mission and continues to guide it today. Headquartered in Agoura Hills, California, Cydcor partners with Fortune 500 leaders as well as emerging brands across the U.S. and Canada. The company specializes in outsourced, in-person customer acquisition through a network of independently owned sales companies across North America. These companies operate in the residential, retail, business-to-business, and event services channels, creating flexible and scalable solutions to meet each client’s needs. Some clients rely on Cydcor to complement their existing sales force, while others count on Cydcor’s network as their exclusive customer acquisition channel. In both cases, the goal remains the same: driving measurable growth through meaningful interactions.
What sets Cydcor apart is its ability to combine the timeless art of relationship building with modern systems and accountability. While independent sales companies focus on customer engagement, Cydcor provides the backbone that makes scaling possible. This includes compliance oversight, detailed reporting, operational systems, and performance tracking that give clients confidence in both the process and the results. The approach has earned the trust of top Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 brands that turn to Cydcor when they need more than just numbers on a spreadsheet. They need real conversations, genuine connections, and long-term customer relationships.
Under the leadership of Vera Quinn, President and CEO, Cydcor continues to evolve without losing sight of its core belief: that business has always been built on human connection. In a marketplace where digital noise grows louder every day, Cydcor proves that face-to-face sales remain not only relevant but essential. It is a model that honors tradition while embracing innovation, ensuring clients have the reach, structure, and results they need to grow.
In conversation with Vera Quinn, President and CEO of Cydcor
“We see technology as a way to make the in-person experience even better. Our platforms, sales tools, and data systems deliver the information clients need—precisely when they need it."
– Vera Quinn, Cydcor President and CEO
Cydcor has been a trusted partner to Fortune 500 companies for more than three decades. How has your face-to-face approach helped brands stay competitive in today’s automated world?
In today’s automated world, the value of human connection and quality continues to rise because people’s needs are not one-size-fits-all. Brands spend heavily trying to break through the noise, but nothing cuts through like a real conversation. When the field teams engage face-to-face, whether in a business, at a retail store, at someone’s doorstep, or an event, it creates authenticity, accountability, and connection. That personal approach builds trust and loyalty, delivering long-term growth instead of one-off transactions. There is no substitute for the clarity and trust that comes for genuine two-way conversation.
You work across very different verticals—B2B, retail, residential, and event services. How do you customize each campaign?
It starts with listening. We take the time to understand what matters most to the client—what outcomes they want to achieve and who they’re trying to reach. From there, we apply proven strategies while piloting and refining until the approach is right. We don’t believe in copy-and-paste campaigns; every engagement is designed around the client’s goals, with a clear commitment to measurable results.
We’re also highly nimble. Offers, hours, and territory plans can shift quickly, and we adjust with speed, going where customers are and where opportunities exist. For example, in retail environments customers may need product education at the point of sale, while in B2B settings the focus is often on efficiency and ROI. Each campaign is tailored to those realities, ensuring both clients and customers feel understood.
Leading companies often credit Cydcor with helping them expand into new markets. How does your model drive that kind of growth?
We help clients grow because we’re built to scale responsibly. The companies in our network are locally run by entrepreneurs who care deeply about performance and quality. That ownership mindset allows us to move fast when a client wants to expand while still delivering consistency and quality. We’re able to test, adapt, and ramp with speed—without sacrificing the fundamentals. Because we take such pride in the brands we represent, our clients trust us to deliver with consistency and care.
Cydcor works with a network of independently owned sales companies. How does that support innovation and client outcomes?
Entrepreneurs think differently. They’re invested in doing things right because it’s their business. That ownership mindset creates a ripple effect: higher standards, better execution, and more accountability. When a client partners with us, they’re not just accessing sales teams; they’re tapping into a culture of ownership and drive. That translates into stronger performance in the field and sustained results for the brand.
You’ve been recognized as a Great Place to Work. How do culture and leadership play into your business success?
Our culture is built on the belief that people succeed when they help others succeed. That philosophy drives how we lead, how we collaborate, and how we show up for our clients and each other. Our values aren’t just words on a wall. They act as our constitution, guiding decisions and holding us accountable. Because of that, leadership at Cydcor isn’t about hierarchy; it’s about creating an environment where people support one another, push for excellence, and celebrate shared wins. That’s why our culture has become a competitive advantage and why clients trust us to represent their brands with pride.
Technology is clearly important to your operations. How do you balance that with the human side of your business?
We see technology as a way to make the in-person experience even better. Our platforms, sales tools, and data systems deliver the information clients need—precisely when they need it. AI is making our systems smarter and faster, improving everything from compliance to reporting to campaign insights. At the end of the day, technology is there to empower people. It supports the work; it doesn’t replace the human connection that makes in-person sales powerful.
What’s next for Cydcor? Any exciting plans on the horizon?
Cydcor is entering an exciting new chapter of growth. We’re expanding into new industries while continuing to strengthen relationships with the Fortune 500 and emerging brands we already serve. A big part of that future is leveraging AI and advanced platforms to enhance both the client and customer experience, delivering faster insights, sharper tools, and more seamless interactions. Driving results through the power of people remains constant, but the ways we deliver on it are evolving quickly. We also see opportunities in industries undergoing disruption, or where customers are clamoring for personalized solutions where face-to-face engagement can help brands establish trust and drive growth. That’s where our model truly shines.

The process evaluates workplace policies and practices, with 80% of the score drawn from confidential employee feedback. The result: a curated list of LA's top employers, with Cydcor standing out for its consistent leadership, supportive environment, career development focus, and the company's foundation lies in its culture and core values.
A 13-Year Legacy of Workplace Excellence
"We are very intentional about building both a high-performing culture and a high-performing business," said Vera Quinn, CEO of Cydcor. "We want Cydcor to be a place where people are inspired to grow, feel proud of their work, and know they're part of something meaningful."
Cydcor uses the feedback collected through the survey process not only to celebrate what's working but also to highlight areas where the company and departments can improve. This ensures continuous growth, adaptation, and accountability across all levels of the organization. Cydcor fosters a culture where people helping people isn't just a saying, it's the way business is done.
"Consistency matters. Being recognized year after year is a result of our people showing up for one another, staying grounded in our values, and always aiming to get better," Quinn added.
