I was so inspired by Senator John McCain’s life and death. His life is a reminder of America’s greatest values: service, devotion, sacrifice and honor. He is a real American hero.

Actually, he was more than a hero. He was a loving father. In her eulogy, Meghan McCain shared how she loved her father and felt his love. John McCain committed to Washington, DC and traveled the world in his role as a Senator. Yet, he found a way to be a wonderful father. He is a role model of how you can make a big contribution in your career AND have a meaningful family life. Rest in peace.

Cydcor is growing! The build out crew in our new space has been hard at work and they have made considerable progress! Take a look at the pictures and you’ll see that the framing for most offices and the hallways is close to completion. The next steps were wiring in the office walls and drywall – exciting!

The offices that are along the internal wall have been constructed so there is now clear division. A lot of work has been done on the lobby. The ceiling and walls have been opened up so that the staircase can be built. First, the construction crew needs to put in large heavy steel beams for support.

There has been so much progress made in the past two weeks. The glass frames have been installed for each office and all walls are up and prepped for painting.

The lobby is completely opened up and the staircase is nearing completion. In just two and a half short weeks furniture and fixtures will start being delivered and placed.

Garage Sale Funds Two More Surgeries!

A big thank-you to our team members who volunteered to come out last Saturday for our MEGA Garage sale to raise money for Operation Smile.  We raised over $600, which is enough to help two children have a better life by restoring their smile.

The sale took place on Saturday, September 7th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Earth Elementary School’s basketball courts.  Gently used items were donated by Cydcor team members just days before the sale.

Team members that donated items were also eligible for raffle tickets to win a lunch with our CEO, Gary Polson.  Volunteers who helped us set up and take down the sale got five tickets!  Congratulations to our winner, Miriam Caballero, who also received recognition this week from our Joy Germ Club for spreading the most smiles around the office.

The Cydcor home office has now reached our overall goal of raising $30,000 for Operation Smile.  In addition to the sale, we organized a snack bar, wine tasting, movie nights, a karaoke event and more.  The $30,000 is part of an overall company goal to fund a $150,000 medical trip overseas.  This is the second year in a row that Cydcor has been able to raise over $150,000 for Operation Smile.
